Esp coming from a startup, I feel like I have learned/done nothing in my career when I see all these new terms/tools/architectures that Atlassian has. Is it normal to feel this way when you join a new company?

I am not the OP, but give yourself a few months to adjust. Listen, observe, and learn. You were hired based on your past experience and a good manager knows it takes time to get up to speed.

Almost 7 years in and still feel this way at Meta, you're not alone. Be comfortable with not knowing everything.

I am 3 months in and I still feel the same. Its totally normal. I found myself overwhelmed initially with so many new terms, technologies and jargon.

  • Totally normal. Definitely make a point to communicate with your manager what you're familiar with and not familiar with in their stack, then ask for tips on learning those technologies.

This shows intent to come up to speed and buys you additional understanding from your manager imo
