Interviewed with MSFT in 2nd week of November. +Ve feedback from all the interviews. The email update said, "The team enjoyed the conversation and think that you are a fit for the Solutions Architect role" However, there are no open roles in your location at this time.

This has been the status since the 3rd week of November. Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it usually take for MSFT to open a role for an already "selected" resource, or do they just keep interviewing people with out any actual open roles?

  • HR process in Microsoft is a mess, you just have to keep looking at the career website to find any new opportunities

I applied on 3 other roles and all of them are "Application under review".. should I wait for MSFT or look for other opportunities. The hiring manager did say that everything is done from the interview standpoint and just waiting for a req to be opened. Is it worth waiting for or should I take up other roles? I do have a consulting offer with a Startup.

    • There will be new headcounts after the Christmas. If I were in your shoes, I would follow with the HR after Christmas to see if they have any new headcounts

CSA - compliance solution architect? GBB team compliance arm is new and has a small set of IC roles. I wouldnt expect one of those to open up. If it does, wonderful, but your better bet is to keep applying.

Take heart, I have friends and colleagues who applied 10+ times and even did 2 or 3 finals before finally getting hired.

Application to hire rate is astronomical right now. IMO iCIMS also does some unwelcome candidate filtering - thats more on how hiring manager and HR work together. Not everyone is willing to look at near fits which can sometimes be some amazing candidates.
