I was invited to the aws final loop (virtual "onsite") and the manager mentioned in the prior call that the particular position I applied might be filled already but they could use me for other positions if I pass the onsite. I checked the position in aws site and it is marked as no longer under consideration although my loop is scheduled for next week.
Does that happens often? Seems like a team matching type of approach. I heard similar situation for google or fb but never found such thing in aws comments. Im concerned that for not having a specific position I could just be ignored in the process and not get an offer even if I do well on the onsite. Any thoughts/comments?
Ps: the position I originally applied was for inside account executive
