I have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and have undergone a few online courses on Autonomous Vehicle controls, perception, sensor fusion, computer vision, etc. I am really passionate about the industry and have been actively applying for many opportunities at forerunners of this technology such as Tesla, GM, Waymo, Rivian, etc. but have not been able to land an interview. Would greatly appreciate if someone could guide me in the right direction.

YOE: 2

  • Most tier 1 suppliers (Continental, Aptiv, Magna, Bosch, ZF etc.) do have openings for ADAS algorithm engineers. While this is not L4/L5 autonomy, it maybe good to get a feel for the industry. I can help with referrals to at least a couple of these. DM if interested.

Yeah just keep spamming. But also you only have 2 YOE which means you need lots of training and the big players probably don't got time for that right now. Get some experience so you can hire in later and hit the ground running with independent contributions from day one. You may want to look at traditional OEM rotation programs (Ford and GM have them) or working at an ADAS or AV component supplier.

Find a job you are interested in, and ask for a referral on here? You never know. Narrow down to a job or a company first?
