This kind of stuff just keeps happening, literally every single week: https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/woman-assaulted-after-being-followed-from-subway-to-her-brooklyn-apartment/3576556/

Every week, some homeless dude pushing some Asian into the subway and killing them, or some mentally deranged person following some Asian to their home and assaulting/killing them.

Almost every single week, there's been headlines like this. I can't do this anymore.

"Just don't read the news, duh", but there's literally homeless people (all of which are unmasked, because of course) getting super aggressive, in my face, every time I go to the local Morton Williams. There's crazies yelling or threatening people in subway, almost every time. There's junkies and needles, everywhere. There's been a stabbing within 2 blocks of my workplace (not Bloomberg) just recently.

You can't just ignore it, because it is the reality that faces you (forcefully) every day you go outside, *especially* as an Asian. And it's not just isolated to some middle of nowhere, Queens. No, this is seemingly everywhere, and *especially* Manhattan (and again no, not "just" Midtown). Even the "rich parts" don't get to escape the routine violence, apparently.

At this point it's not even about politics, taxes, or literally anything of that sort.

"Just leave", but where? I'm transgender (unfortunately, I'm not passing yet; and please, this really isn't the right place or time to shit on me for being trans, I just want to be safe), and that automatically crosses out Texas (https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-politics-and-policy/texas-governor-calls-citizens-report-parents-transgender-kids-abuse-rcna17455) and Florida (https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-politics-and-policy/florida-house-passes-dont-say-gay-bill-rcna17532) - where trans people are common scapegoats - which I know are the two most common destinations for people fleeing NYC.

I hear Cali's even *worse* than NYC in this regard (if it's even *possible* to be worse than how it is here), and I hear there's homeless encampments for blocks in Seattle. So where DO I go?

Where IS safe in America?

  • Progressive policies have failed. Cue the statements on mental health, defunding the police, ACAB, etc.

Remember when Andrew Yang ran for mayor and said the people of NYC should have the freedom to walk the streets without being attacked by people with mental health issues? The progressive left chewed him up, because how dare he make such a blanketed statement. I can't believe I aligned myself with the democratic party when I was in college.

My dude, it's not going to improve, I seen this shit out in CA. Crime is going unpunished here, and nothing is going to change until it actually affects a large percentage of progressives and not just poor minorities.

The problem is blue state Democrats are killing each other at an alarming rate and dragging unwilling participants into their mess. Or maybe that's what the voters want. Who knows.

In hick ass meth and opioid ridden red states the drug addicts OD and die out of sight and out of mind. It wouldn't be a problem in the blue states if the Democrats kept their killing to themselves. It's only a problem when they drag innocent families and bystanders into their mess. I would personally cheer them on otherwise.

    • What progressive policies does new york have?

Is it the former cop mayor? The rich people who dominate everything?

Bloomberg seems to confuse physical safety (i.e. not being attacked by a homeless person) with someone disagreeing with them.

@amazon it's not for you and not for governor of texas to decide what medical procedures children should and should not get.
Both of you don't have enough knowledge (brains) for such decisions.

Doctors in cooperation with trans kids parents are legally allowed to decide whether it's appropriate for specific situation.

Everywhere is safe in Texas for trans people. Nobody cares. It’s not about who YOU are, it’s about who THEY are. NYC and Chicago and California big cities has a lot of crazies. We don’t have that in Texas. All of our crime is gang/cartel related for the most part. Nobody will even know your trans. Seriously.
