im a c# developer and i have a phone interview for a java position that i really want. is there anyway to land this? .5 yoe
Will they throw me out for lack of java experience?
Not if it’s a place worth working for. Many small companies might higher for specific stacks but generally good devs can learn whatever they need to get the job done. You’ll probably miss c# a lot but it will be mostly ok.
How's your Java under the hood knowledge?
Does the job post specifically ask for java experience? Then you don't stand a chance. Some companies use java but are open to hiring people without any experience in that language (e. g. Amazon, Bloomberg). You should apply to those companies if you are interested to pick up java.

Yes, just use camel casing instead of pascal casing, and you’ll be fine
What do you mean pascal case? In c# are variables named like this public String FirstName. Almost all modern languages like Java js use firstName Or am I misunderstanding something?
