Does anybody know anything about it? I’m thinking about lateral to their restructuring branch. #consulting #restructuring
Aren’t they a funeral home?
You mean they are top shop for restructuring and bankruptcy? Yes. They may run funeral homes but Deloitte recently has been feeling like one.
Lighten up, it was a joke. It’s gloomy across the board in consulting, so not sure what a move to AM will get you other than taking you to a niche and less prestigious firm. But good luck.
Not in RX but referred a friend from B4 into Alix. He’s happier with the culture
RX culture is good. Good brand recognition, talented and engaged leadership. Projects will be interesting since the practice is one of the better ones. Downside is lack of overhead/perks due to lack of prestige and brand for A&M as a whole. The company is relatively frugal so you won’t get nice swag or the nicest laptops/software. It’s a family business and doesn’t want to compete with MBB for talent. They’re looking for smart operators that can go and get stuff done. If that’s more your culture than it’s a good fit.
Thank you so much for your comment. Sent you a dm.
Agree with this but will point out that in lieu of the "frugal" culture, they pay 2-3x what Alix/FTI pays if you're a good performer working throughout the year. Source: I cleared $600k TC as a associate/Sr Associate.
Know a high level employee that came over from Deloitte. Said the culture is good overall, treat you like a human being rather than a number and care about WL balance, but it a family firm so there is favoritism and politics.
Family firm? Really? Also the reason why I’m asking is because I’ve heard some horror stories about those rx consulting firms
Yeah, the CEO is Tony Alvarez II, the European practice lead is Tony Alvarez III, and Nick Alvarez leads their PE practice. Family firm. Again, I spoke with a high level employee...for them it a significantly better culture than D. And as it is at most firms when it comes to WLB, “it depends.”
