I had an onsite couple of days back (standard 5 technical rounds) MTV location.

I did pretty well in 3 rounds (2 coding + 1 onsite)

1 of them was average (coding) I did arrive at the answer by had a couple of logical bugs which the interviewer pointed out and also the space complexity wasn't optimal.

The last one was kinda bad (design + coding) The question was very vague and interviewer told me it's a new question and he himself had not spent thinking through it. But, he wanted to test how I would try to solve it. Not sure if he liked my approach. We had 10 mins left and he asked me to code it up. I barely could manage some pseudo code. I don't think he was happy. He was grumpy all the time.

I am SWE with 5 years exp. what are my chances?

For my onsite, I had a similar situation. Completely screwed up one of the interviews but did well on the other ones. I’ve made it to the SVP approval stage so I’m guessing it’s okay to screw up one.

Is it system design or data structure design? I just got a pretty good offer recently and I did well on only 3/5 according to my recruiter! Good luck! Keep us up to dated

I messed up the data structure design. I never understood what the interviewer wanted to get out of me. He was not clear. End of the interview he seemed unhappy.

Yeah, I feel like I am more like 3-3.5 out of 5 rounds

Failing one design part means you could receive offer for a lower level. If everything else is perfect offer is quite likely.

Also depends on how the other candidates perform.
