A FB PM recruiter reached out to me yesterday about initiating the PM interview loop. Needless to say I’m quite surprised considering that I went to a non-prestigious state school and don’t work for an elite company whatsoever (currently not at DTCC). I’m assuming recent events such as their whistleblower scandal and “the great resignation” etc. is opening some opportunities.
However, I just began my new PM position a few months ago so I plan on requesting the recruiter to be contacted again in 6 months. I figured in the meantime it’ll be optimal to start preparing now. Just wanted some feedback on my strategy ahead of time:
1. Read the usual PM books (Cracking the PM interview, Swipe to Unlock, Sacred Seven etc.)
2. Sign up for Product Alliance and watch the free Exponent videos on YouTube
3. Mock interviews, like a shit ton, while receiving feedback and improving my answers overtime
4. I believe FB PM interviews don’t ask technical-heavy questions, so no need for systems design prep? Please correct me if I’m wrong.
I plan on allocating these steps throughout a span of 6 months. Feel free to let me know if I should consider adding other elements for preparation!

Seems like once people get past the resume screening, only their interview performance matters. Product sense and product execution. Questions are so open ended that any answer is a good answer as long as it’s “structured”
I could be wrong, but that’s my current “data set”
