    SCEs are paid way less than SWEs.
    Also, SWEs are more respected, better work life balance etc.
    SCE is customer facing, so you might have to deal with some non-Googley customers.
    That being said, I'm a SCE and I love it. Every couple of weeks there is an interesting problem to figure out. You will be designing so many cloud systems that you will become expert at it.
    The technology is cutting edge and majorly focuses on open source and there is always something new to work on.
