Can I experience NYC from Clifton, NJ?

Dec 30, 2021 23 Comments

Got a offer over in Clifton, NJ.

Lived west coast my entire life, and been wanting to see what all this NYC hype is about (no plans to stay long term).

Would it be too far to experience actual NYC?

  • If you’re under 35 and single you should not live in Clifton NJ

You may be better off living in Newport or Hoboken

What do you mean by experience actual NYC?

I have lived in Jersey City, closer to NYC than Clifton. It was quick train away from Manhattan and other popular NYC hubs. Definitely not possible from Clifton.

OP you would work in Clifton. I dont think anyone would go to NY daily after work even from Jersey City, but clifton isn’t far for the weekends. I used to work in Hoboken and rarely went to NY during weekdays.

I think because after living there for long enough even I used to go to NY only on weekends maybe. But since OP would be living there for first time it would be a totally different case especially in the beginning.
