I have offers from Google and Facebook (Mgmt - level 6). Do people have opinions on which of them are better for promotions? Any intuition as to where people grow faster? I know this largely depends on the team and most importantly on your performance, but for this question, let’s assume your performance is the same on both companies. I’m in software - more specifically in mobile. I’d prefer to not reveal specific teams. Thanks!

  • I am Facebook M1 (E6 manager) and have spent a long time at google. But I have to agree with what hodlr said so eloquently. Blind is a marketplace for information. You have to provide some information to get more from the community.

Good question. I’ll be honest with you. I’ve already detailed my current tc and my expectations for offers I’m waiting to receive from Google and FB as a separate post. I don’t mind sharing it if someone asks. What I don’t appreciate is being forced to do so in exchange for information. I don’t share that value and don’t want to be part of that game, even if this is the norm around here. I’d like to believe that there are people that want to help me as much as I want to help them without asking for things in return, and that’s how I’ll continue behaving. Does that make sense?

Good luck getting promoted in Google. It's a crazy process that causes attrition. Go to FB.
