Netflix people will only refer folks they can personally attest to. It’s part of the culture to be confident of the choices you make - referring a stranger is counter to that (worked at Netflix as a hiring manager for years - that’s my reference).

That being said, they are the most thoughtful and thorough recruiting team I’ve ever had the joy of working for. They are thorough. They don’t automate short-listing, etc. if you are qualified, they will reach out. If you aren’t, they won’t.

    Not sure about the others.

Thanks for your post! I've developed some excellent contacts at Netflix, but I hate reaching out to them repeatedly for roles; I know recruiting is tough right now for limited positions. However, the Netflix recruiter I spoke with back in June said that I've qualified for a manager-level role and asked if I had time to wait for a role in the areas I'm looking for to open up.

The pandemic has been the hardest hit on production opportunities which is why I am reaching out here if anyone wants to engage. That said, I have seen a lot of associate strategy, manager of strategy, at Netflix that have 1-3 years at an investment bank before being able to move into a manager-strat role, non-MBA. I had a recruiter from Strategy Ops reach out once to schedule the interview and then never heard from them again.

Creative executives with 1-yr of assistant or development coordinator experience prior to again being able to land the role. Networking on this side is everything. I'm trying to go into this new year doing everything possible to get my resume reviewed against 1,000 other people with less experience but may have a better ATS keyword score to land interview invites.

Sounds like you should reach back out to that recruiter - say happy new year and ask if there are some opps that fit your abilities on the horizon.

That’s what they are there for. You staying in contact makes it easier for them.

They also look at experience and contributions differently. I don’t recommend trying to judge yourself against others as that’s not part of the culture. You are in competition with yourself. You push you

I got a Warner media offer and they are definitely not a top paying company for software engineering. I can’t speak to other stuff
