I am 20 years old and two years into college, I want to end up in a high TC B2b software sales role in the future but am stuck on what to do at the moment. I just recently got a job at Tesla as a gallery advisor but have also been offered a summer internship at Dell in sales.

Should I stay at Tesla and grow with the company or take the internship that’s closer to where I want to take my career?

Isn’t the Tesla role also in sales? Also what are you study in school at the moment?

In my opinion, if you’re still in school, taking the internship roles is usually the better option.

I am studying finance at the moment, and learning coding on the side on my own, I really want to get into the higher paying B2B software sales roles but lately I’ve been thinking about business analyst type roles as well.

  • If you’re really focused on a high paying tech job then you should be working towards a computer science degree or looking into bootcamps that place graduates with big tech companies.

I am two years into my business degree so it’s too late to switch to CS, I wish I started off with CS. I started learning coding on my own a bit ago, hoping to get into maybe a business analyst role.

Old post, not sure what direction you took, but I know lots of folks graduated from Dell’s sales training program pulling in 300k+ per year selling within 3 years. You don’t need a CS degree to pull in mid-6 figures in Tech if you know how to sell and Dell does teach this well.
