Hello I joined Bloomberg AI team in year 2021 and going to have my first EVAL. Was wondering how much the standard raise is per year and if it depends on the dept. Appreciate any DP. Thank you all. Phd YOE: 1 TC:325K

    • AI pays more to get people in, not uncommon offer for phd. Similar boat here.

I suspect raise will not be great unless we’re very top contributors on the team, since we’re probably higher in the band relative to our peers. I’m also curious if raises in AI are different from those in other groups.

    • @Oracle base w cash bonus that’s 20-25% of base. Will need competing offers for 250+ 3 YOE

  • You should officially join the Bloomberg blind. There are approximately 500 threads about eval.

I think standard raise is 3% but I might be wrong. Relatively many people get 5-7%, I'll go check on one of the threads and update here if I was significantly off.
That being said, your raise could be lower if they decide you're at the top of your comp range.

    • You need to re-register using an @bloomberg.com (or .net) address. I do hear they might be blocking it now, not sure if just rumors...

  • Dude you are already crazy high! I know lots of new grads in AI group starting with phd under 200k.

🀣 Wait a month and you will find out in your annual compensatation talk with manager. What's the rush? If there is a rush due to some other offer, just ask your colleagues what's been the average increase over past years. It's not a frowned upon question, you are just asking about percentage and not asking for their salary numbers.

If you're the 1% you will get a raise once a year. If you are not that 1% it will vary. Some people took 4 years to get a raise and it was not much. All depends on the department or how important your position is. Not a fair environment, very click oriented.
