ITT: people who are not smokers giving a smoker advice. Iโ€™m not a smoker either but my parents smoked for 40 years. They couldnโ€™t quit without the injection they give you which fucks your brain and makes you depressed. My mom successfully quit for a couple years after the injection and pills and then relapsed. Itโ€™s literally a drug that alters the composition of your brain.

Recognize how difficult it is and then give it all you got. Youโ€™ll probably still fail

I was able to quit years of smoking. Patches and all don't work. You have to go cold turkey and plan it along a less stressful month. There are 3 threes. First 3 days are shit and so are first 30 days but after that it will become bearable. However you will still remember that feeling of nicotine and you are still prone to go back to if put in the right setup. After 3 months the feeling of smoking kinda fades away. After a year i completely forgot that feeling and i was free from the shackles of nicotine. Without a doubt, being able to quit smoking is my biggest achievement. It reinforced the belief that I can do anything if I put all my energy to it. There are multiple occasions when i said to myself that if I can quit smoking then this is nothing. I would say if you are getting an inner calling of quitting it then 50% work is already done. That's the most important thing, rest is just 30 days of showing mental strength.

You can do it. All the best.

Start by not referring to yourself as a smoker. Then when you have the opportunity to smoke, remind yourself that you are not a smoker.
