Got an offer from Apple for a hardware engineering role and tech start-up (not related to consumer electronics) as well. Offer details:
Apple
Base: 150k
Sign on: 55k
RSUs: 110k/ 4 years
Location: Cupertino
Start-up (still in stealth mode)
Base: 175k
RSUs: 320k/4 years
Location: Seattle
Start-up stocks has a really good potential to at least go 2-3X in a year. Disappointed with the RSUs offered at Apple.
People in both the teams seemed very smart and accommodating. I have heard the start-up has a good company culture as well.
Apple will bring the brand value and help learn the skills required in consumer electronics. Plus the Cupertino office! Apple has always been my dream company too.
Update: It is a unicorn start-up.
Current TC: 90k

And if youโre thinking to working in Apple Park is a perk, you will be disappointed. Itโs a super noisy and crowded open space.
On the other hand, Apple is a company rewards stability. WLB generally good and I can see myself working here until retirement.
