I am a Project Manager and I want to shift to a Product Management role. Does anybody recommends the Product School or General Assembly courses to land a Product Management job at Google/FB/any other big tech companies?
I know people who have been to and enjoyed Product School. Still hard to make the job switch but they do help prepare you for interviews.
From what I heard from General Assembly, it's not good news. Bad reputation + their propensity to take anyone makes the bar low for them. Product school I'm unsure of, but if I had to choose I'd go with the more specialized program.
I just finished Product School. It was a really awesome experience to build on what I was doing at work. Highly recommend and the instructor was fantastic really cared about helping us grow over the 8 weeks.
If you have a technical undergrad degree, Carnegie Mellon has a Masters in Product Management degree you can go for if you want to transition. If you want to do it without going to school, try to switch to product management internally at your current company then go elsewhere. Otherwise, you can take a more entry level product role at another company
