Frankly, I feel like I am being treated like dust. “They” go ariund introducing people, or asking “How is your week?” and consistently pass over me. 🙋🏼‍♀️😰 I set up my space, lighting, make-up, hair, dress uo nicely, put all this effort in to looking goid, pay attention, am early, smile, dont multi-task, mute, do all the right things. Yet still I don’t matter.

    One of the two reasons:-
Maybe coworkers are sexist or they are intimidated by you. Try asking one of them, "How are you?" And then also hangout at various slack/teams channel of your choice, talking about movies you watched or play games with them. (Xbox, ps4). Join the women's network in your company and if you have like me bi weekly, friday hangout sessions, participate in them

I’m turning my camera off from now on. I’ll still do my hair and make up but will say my camera isn’t working. That’s it.

I wish I could work where you work! I’ve been to 54 countries and have lived abroad and speak French and Spanish. Used to be a GO at Club Med.

Yes I know. I was offered Expedia and Holland America but went with Sound Transit, which is transportation, also highly impacted. It not as bad as that! Seattle has been hard-hit. Except Amazon. But that was the worst place I’ve ever worked. Highly toxic. People crying every day all over. I was like a therapist every day consoling people.
Now WFH I’m Casper the friendly ghost.

Maybe they're just used to you being silent. Maybe they see you as the odd one.
If so it will take some effort. Reach out to one person 1:1 and don't just make it all business. Then the next one. And another one. Talk about TV, movies, music.
For the next meeting you'll have backup. And call up the show you all have in common and watch them bring you into their circle.
Or you can give up and leave. No workplace is worth crying over. If it's a sexist hole - run. You already have all the support at home you need. Hug them when the world turns to shit. You can change your world, but they'll always be there for you.

I am giving up. I was crying an hour ago. Then I turned to Chardonnay and Judge Judy. I feel better now. Checked on my chickens. Husband gave me a kiss. I feel better. Thanks Blind community for listening! 🙏♥️🙋🏼‍♀️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
