Why recruiters can't tell the reason of rejection?

Sep 2, 2019 18 Comments

I was recently interviewed with FB and rejected, and the recruiter just simply told me to try 6 months later. There were coding, behavioral and design sessions. How could I know which one is weak and prepare it later since she didn't tell me the reason?

I was coached by my HR folks this: โ€œyou do not owe the candidate anything after the interview. Providing them feedback opens up the discussion as to if the interview was fair or biased and is possibly grounds for litigation.โ€

Because of the potential lawsuits against the company.
Also, if the recruiters give exact reasons, candidates might disagree, have arguments and waste their time.

Understand that, but most all recruiters never get contacted once rejected. Cruel.

At amazon when you do training to become an Interviewer they say that due to legal reasons we donโ€™t provide feedback, I remember the instructor mentioning that historically amazon has realised that people donโ€™t take critical feedback well.
