I observe that managers tend to increase the scope of work. the work which could be done by 2-3 people manager tend to hire 10-15 people just to manage more. Sometime managers sacrifice quality of product to do this. To managers: is not that you doing more harm than good for the company. Or I am missing something?

You sound like a fresher. Engineers play their games and managers play theirs. No one needs that fancy new DB you just introduced or the new framework you forced into the code base. Live and let live. Flourish together. Companies are out there to make a profit. You make yours. Companies won’t blink an eye before shitting on you. So work together and grow.

You are missing something. Companies and businesses aim for profitability and if this empire building hurts that, this will get culled. There is more than what meets the eye my friend and just because you are good at your job means you understand others roles and functions well. This is like saying the CEO doesn’t do anything. If the CEO doesn’t produce results they will get fired.
