Hi,
I had applied to two relevant Product Manager roles via referral and got standard 'Unfortunately.....' email without any call in 24 hours.

I had applied to 3 roles via referral at the same time.

Assuming I got rejected on resume screening on an autopilot, is it even worth sending anything? But not a single call and the HR who rejected me has a 3 year college degree(fact) and no tech background(fact).

I am shocked.
What could have happened? What should my next steps be? Should I even reapply?

Edited:
Here are my actions so far:
a. Sent a contact request to all google recruiters on LI.
b. Responded to the recruiter requesting specific feedback.
c. Wrote to google employee that referred me

Update : Thanks everyone for your suggestions and all help offered ! I am really humbled by your DMs and love of the blind community.
I will try next time and hopefully God will shine 😇 some light on me. So, grateful for all of you sharing your experiences. 🙏

- Real Love to amazing blind community

Thanks to "another" Google employee for truth that some of us notice:
"I've noticed this is not the only post about this topic. Also, 99% of the other replies here are completely clueless on the process. I'm suspecting it has nothing to do with your profile. At G, human is always reviewing your resume. If you are referred, ask the referee to follow up with recruiter why you haven't been selected. More often than not, they will correct the decision."
"That is not the most likely reason why op was rejected. It's impressive that I have already given the actual reason in 4-5 replies, yet people keep speculating on the process which they are clearly not familiar with at all."

Bro adding a bunch of recruiters on LI and pinging them randomly is a sure fire way to get shit listed. Also looking down on “the hr” for having a 3 year degree and no tech background (newsflash none of the recruiters do that’s why they are not in tech) shows a real lack of common sense and eq.

Don't be so condescending on other job functions. Do you expect an engineer getting paid half a mil or Sundar to sit and screen your resume? I know candidates who have McKinsey BCG on their resumes that get rejected all the time but are more respectful and value every job function. Confidence is great but can turn into arrogance too soon

They had a glance and there is nothing that stands out or you applied for position way higher than your YEO

ATS = Applicant Tracking System; a common feature of an ATS is “rating” resumes on presumed fit with a job description. I presume OP found some kind of site online where you plug in your resume and the job description and it gives you a match rating.

Who had a glance? Again, that is not how the process works.

I’ve been referred to Google two times, 6 positions total- no call, generic rejection message within 2 weeks of application. So referral doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get noticed.

How did it happen with Amazon? Amazon will hire anything with a pulse, six fingers, and the ability to kind of code.

I should know: they hired me and I just described myself, except I have nine fingers.

Google, it’s not the first time it happened to me, same was before the pandemic. So it is a very common practice. And you can imagine, people who want to get to Google already have the capability and experience to handle google projects so it’s definitely not about skills or expertise anymore. They ask for referrals when they’re sure in their abilities.
So I guess Google has some prioritization within the referral program.
