I have received two offers. I wanted to know which one is better in terms of TC and future growth:

Amazon, Software Development Engineer II, New York City:
Base: $176,600
Sign-on bonus: $105,000 (year 1 given over 12 months), $80,900 (year 2 given over 12 months)
RSU: 85 units (approx $256,000) (vested over 4 years 5% 1st year, 15% 2nd year, 40% 3rd year, 40% 4th year)
TC: $286,233

Microsoft, Software Engineer II, Austin TX:
Base: $145,000
Sign-on bonus: $50,000 (paid after first month), $50,000 (paid after first month of 2nd year)
RSU: $225,000 (vested over 4 years 25% each year)
Performance Bonus: 0-20% of base pay
TC: $255,250 (20% performance bonus) - $226,250 (0 performance bonus)
I also wanted how likely am I to get a 20% performance bonus in Microsoft.

Amazon is an awful place to work, unless you get lucky and get a good team/manager.

Ive heard a lot of good things about microsoft. Even though it’s lower TC, I’d rake MS over Amazon in a heartbeat.

If you actually want to learn shit, go to amazon, work for 2 years and change jobs again. If you just want to live a slow relaxing life, go to Microsoft (unless it’s azure)

This isn't always true. Amazon is a terrible place to learn new things. It's a good place to build on what you know and potentially expand, but if you don't already understand the lionshare of work to be done it requires over compensation. Very sink or swim culture with little to no guidance from my experience.

Microsoft offer is financially better. New York vs Austin. Microsoft benefits worth 14k. Amazon worth 6k. Even with 10% bonus it’s a better offer than Amazon.

MS vesting schedule is wayyyy better than Amazon's. You'll see no real upside until your 3rd year. It's designed that way to keep you for at least 2 years

Well currently, stocks are going down, so cash is the more sure bet, especially in the next year or two. But even then, the 85 units in his initial offer will still be going up for year 3 and 4. And if he does well, he’d be given more stock than that anyways

Amazons comp structure and vesting schedule is basically risk free. It's pretty much all cash for the first two years. Then after 2 years you can assess where the stock is (and whether you like working for Amazon) and make a call
