i am unable to solve mediums on my own. most of them have some weird tricks. so i decided to know them all. now i dont waste time trying to solve it myself i just look at solution then code. Who else does this ? is this the right way ? my game plan is after i have seen like 200 questions i will be familiar with all the tricks so that i can solve anything familiar i am not an SDE at amazon (DS) trying to move to AS I dont believe i am stupid its just leetcode questions are like puzzles, only if you have seen it earlier or something familiar you can solve
I too do this. But make sure you understand the solution. This will help you to be able to identify appropriate solution for similar problems quickly.
By AS you mean applied scientist ? And you are trying to move from data scientist to applied scientist ?
What is the diff. b/w DS and AS in terms of job responsibilities?
Hows the process like for applied scientist? I have an interview coming up in 3weeks.
Everybody who wants to talk dm
I used to immediately go to solutions after noting the approach I would take. 90% my approach was bs. Then I started coding the solution no matter what bs approach just to check where i stand. Most of the time its better than 40%. Then started tweaking code to get better and resubmit. After couple of tries would check the best voted solution. I am at 250+ but havent cracked any interview yet. So long way to go....
I’d advise against this. Setup a 30-40 minute timer and try to figure them out on your own so the “tricks” truly stick, and after that look at the solution. Else you’ll be like some people around here that have done 600 leets but keep getting rejected.
You will get crushed by the first follow up question
How did you get in Amazon?
💀
there was a period in which new grads weren’t tested on coding, I heard.
