if i transfer from one faang to another, while on tn visa, is there a chance i can lose my tn visa/status? i know youre allowed to transfer tn visa from one employer to another. edit: Sorry, by transfer, i mean getting another tn visa with the other employer. will this affect my current tn visa in any way?
Why would u lose current one? Dont do consular so you can just retry at different port if denied
Can I do it by mail? Or is that consular. And won’t they see I have a tn visa already?
by mail is consular processing - if you get denied, you're done. You can apply in person, leave US to nearest country with docs, apply at port of entry
No such thing as TN transfers.. get a new one
that's what op means
OP explicitly said "I know you're allowed to transfer TN from one company to another.." There's no such thing as TN transfers. Transfers mean you can start working on receipt of new petition. That's not allowed with TN. To answer OP's question, theres not straight answer for this. For your new TN to be denied, there must be a reason, if there's some information mismatch they may check to see if your old TN had the same issue and revoke your old TN. When you say, if your new TN is denied, it really depends on the new denial reason.
You can get denied and banned anytime if you are software engineer. My friend got banned when he was re entering US. He wasn’t even applying for a new TN. He already had a TN. He just had really bad luck that day and the officer started questioning him.
You don't lose the current one. But be very careful about who and when you tell them you are switching jobs.

Should I move to US and be part of the rat race?
You’ll need a new TN visa from the new employer.
Oh another one, if that one gets denied, is there a chance I can lose my current one?
I've been told if you get a hard denial your current TN is also lost, although I doubt this happens often. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row when applying and everything should be fine.
