Airbnb has reportedly dropped its internal valuation to $26 billion as the coronavirus halts travel worldwide
comments
They’re using our new 409a (given by 3rd party to determine fair market value) compared to a preferred price (given by investors many years ago). 409a updates quarter by quarter, why not compare to the previous one? Of course the drop of the 409a now compared to an investor price years ago will be tiny.
Airbnb can’t determine it’s own “internal valuation” that’s not how it works. Are people this dumb?
reducing by 16% in the situation where your service won’t be needed at all for 1 year at least - what a joke
companies go 2x down booking/boeing in the situation like this, and AirBnB - “ah we fine!”
as guy above said probably 61% reduction would be more suitable
