  • That’s insane. Lockdowns do not work.

    • They are separating children and parents. Putting people in isolation camps. This isn’t Ebola. It doesn’t need this type of reaction. Most people that get it survive. 99.9% to be clear.

    • Lockdowns don't work when the mutation is way way way way way way way more transmissible than it was in 2020.

We also have way way way way better therapeutics for dealing with covid.

The CCP approach in locking down total cities made sense at the initial start of covid when no one truly knew anything about it but since vaccines became a thing (at least American made vaccines) and the advent of pill based treatments and antibody injections; it's extremely foolish to start doing what China is doing.

You will get covid, there's no hiding from it. If you interact with people, you will get it.

What the CCP has done is ensure the entire population has never been exposed to a covid strain for two years. So something like omnicron absolutely decimates through the population.

Only advice is to buy PUTs on consumer based companies because all those stocks will take a hit in 2-3 months.

I was born and raised in Shanghai, and my families are still there. I’m heart broken. My city is being raped by the government. People are dying, not because of covid, but because of cancer, heart attack, kidney failure, asthma, and depression. A few thousand positive covid cases, mostly asymptomatic, no death. More than 25 million people under complete lockdown. No grocery stores open,no public transportation available, most hospitals shutdown, only police cars patrolling, and endless testing. And military troops have come. My parents constantly worry about not having enough food. My grandparents constantly worry about not getting their medicines refilled. My friends constantly worry about their pets being taken away from them. And we are still the luckier ones, because many people have already suffered great loss during this lockdown. For the people who still live in one of those countries that are so-called democracies, please do not easily give away your rights protected by the constitution. If you don’t standup for your freedom, it will be forever gone. You don’t need to read 1984 to understand this, you just need to look at what’s happening to Shanghai.

And often times people think if they give up a bit of their freedom, they can get something in return from the government. Maybe it’s safety, maybe it’s welfare. But look at Shanghai, people have lost their freedom in the most literal sense, and they have almost no access to food or medical help.

Guarantee that the CCP overlords have plenty of food and medicine.

CCP member just created impact in hopes of promotion. Covid is nothing more than a bad flu at this point. It's endemic.

Lockdowns are power trips, not public safety.

Man, if China (who was contact tracing the shit out of everyone long before Covid) can’t make this work, then that’s a pretty clear indicator that lockdowns were a suboptimal strategy (aka dumb)

Suboptimal compared to what? Sometimes the best isn't enough, but you must do it to prevent much worse outcomes.

They did it wrong. The correct approach is to have just enough lockdowns to prevent the hospitals from getting overloaded, which is what the West did. We debate California versus Florida but both CA and FL did a version of moderation compared to China (zero COVID fail) or Brazil (pretend it doesn't exist fail).

Plus they are too proud to admit our vaccines are better and theirs suck so they are stuck with sinovac which isn't very good.
