Sales @ AWS or Google Ads??

Received an L6 offer as a Sr. #AE on AWS selling to #enterprise businesses. Comparing this to an offer to be an AE (assuming L5) at Google on the Ads team. Comp is similar and my background is in digital ads/media so moving to AWS would be a departure from what I know. Having a hard time deciding, would love some insight.

    I’ve done both (L5 at AWS and L5 at Google now) and comp will probably be 100k higher at AWS due to the higher ceiling. WLB at Amazon is terrible though. You’ll probably never need to work more than 40 hours/week in LCS or GCS.

    I’d take the AWS role just for the experience if you don’t have many commitments and can grind a couple more years. You can always come back to Ads since you have the experience. I will say I’m happy as hell now and stress free. Chill hours and time to hang with my newborn. 250k TC is plenty for me but wife makes about the same.

    I would go with Ads. That is a chill environment. Probably make less but you will have way less stress.

    Tbh sales at either is not really SaaS sales - both are probably working install business which is basically Account Management. AWS will show you can be technical and open more doors given where the world is going.
