Background check for felony arrest

My co worker was arrested last week for a suspected felony charge.
He did not get his first hearing and says the charges are false. He is a good man as far as I know and is reeling into depression. His family is caught up in all this too.
He is in the middle of a job change.
His lawyer says he is positive he can get the case thrown out.
Would arrest records show up in background checks and affect employability?

    As long as the hearing is pending it won’t show up on the background check. If he was successfully able to switch the job before the court judgement he will clear the background check. Even if he has the case thrown, some companies in the questionnaire ask you if you are arrested and have any historical criminal charges. In such a case one has to disclose the charge unless he get the charge expunged after its dismissed. Depending on the state expungements can be hard to get.
