Just got an offer for SWE at Viasat in San Diego with 4 YOE. Base salary only no equity or bonus. Is this a low ball for Viasat? I saw some of their positions requiring 3-5 YOE with base salary ranges from 150k - 200k. How much higher can I realistically get? TC: 110k Edit: Negotiated to 150k base and 20k RSU over 4 years
Don’t take it!
Hi! Can you please share your thoughts on why ?
Why shouldn’t they take it?
This sounds about right for what they pay. No RSUs or sign on for anything below Director. Bonuses are few and far between. Depends on whether the culture and San Diego life are worth it.
I have not received any RSUs or bonuses since I signed on in 2019. Recruiter was full of shit. Getting a little more experience in space electronics and then bouncing out.
Thankfully I left long time ago 🤧 don’t take it
Hi! Can you please share your thoughts on why ?
I also received an offer recently and deciding whether to take it. TC - 175K for San Jose. 10K sign on and 20K RSU for 4 years. YOE is 5. Can you please share your insights ?
Congrats OP! I think we spoke earlier through DM.
How receptive were they with negotiations? Jumping from 110 to 150 is a great leap I feel like.
Any idea on salary range for BS computer science graduates?
How do they get by paying so low? There’s so much competition in the San Diego market now.
I can tell you that's what we get paid 🤦♂️ The bonus/RSUs are shit. Realistically maybe 10-15% more. But anything more and I'd be shocked.
What’s the new grad swe salary at viasat?
With a bachelor's or masters degree?
