Core Data in Facebook

How is the work life balance in Core Data? Also appreciate any feedback on the leadership and their vision and direction.

  • I work in Core Data and I can say the WLB is good. In general, outside of oncalls, your time is your own and the people with bad WLB are either mis-leveled or are aiming for high ratings that might not come naturally to them. I’ve been in the org 4 years now and the leadership at each level has changed while I’ve been here so I wouldn’t necessarily take a hard dependency on that - the culture, the technical challenges and the impact are great and that’s what keeps me in the org

    I will say I have heard great stuff about the technical bar and direction from colleagues at Facebook, especially FRL.
