I mean the interview(not very interested) lasts 30 minutes and I don't want to ask for a leave to stay at home for that.
I only want to utilize lunch time here around NY stock exchange in NYC. Do you guys know some quiet I can do that?
Thank you!

Is it a phone screen that requires a laptop or just a conversation?

I worked on wall st a few years ago and did around 8 phone screens using a headset in the pavilion under the 28 Liberty St building. The clock in the church goes off on the hour kind of loud but you can walk around the building. Worked for me. Also on pine st there's a little food eating area that can be quiet sometimes. I've never had an issue with taking initial phone screens in the street in NYC, just have to be upfront about it if there is a lot of noise all of a sudden.

If you need a laptop you can go rent an office for an hour in the area online.

  • I just let the interviewer know that I’m in Midtown or downtown Manhattan. They understand the noise. Astor place has worked well for me. Downtown is a little touristy so you can probably take a train to the west village ( the affluent parts are really quiet even during peak times ). The train back and forth should really add no more than 15 mins frkm NYSE
