To answer your question it becomes a bit hard not impossible, source: a friend tried to switch after spending 4yr in HFT space
didn't calculate based on marbles.. they are 50 though
And optiver is pretty famous for being almost entirely C++. It's not impossible but it has its own set of challenges.
