recently moved from SF to south bay to be closer to work. what are some actually cool/fun places/things to do down here? fun bars/restaurants/hangout spots?
My favorite restaurant is sumiya, a Japanese skewer place. Get the usual stuff on the menu, but also try out their off the menu items like the tetchan, fatty intestines. I know it doesn't sound good, but it's fucking delicious But I think In general, South Bay life is pretty boring unless you have an established circle of friends. It's mostly house gatherings and hikes for entertainment, and as for food options, if you don't know local people to show you around, it's quite hard. Also get a car. It'll make life a lot better
You say as if you moved from Mars. It’s only a few miles. Grow up.
Nothing! Welcome to South Bay. Enjoy the nothing! :)
Rosewood Hotel bar on Thursday nights. Dress smart.

What, you don't know how to Google it? Yelp it. Nextdoor it. Facebook it. Meetup it. Otherwise visit all the downtowns, MV, Sunnyvale, Los Gatos, Los Altos, Campbell, San Jose, Saratoga, you are bound to find your spot otherwise head back to SF.
Been here 5 years it’s absolutely miserable unless you’re just a carbon copy corporate rat who cares nothing about entertainment and decent food.
That's entirely subjective. I actually hate food in sf and what people do up there. Have a blast in the south bay most of the time as the food options are way better for me, and as for entertainment, as my friends are all down south, I have a lot more fun. SF is almost entirely for work to me and I try to avoid the city as much as possible
I agree with this. I like going out and all, just not at those prices. Also, I like having my car and tbh can’t afford for a decent place in the city.
welcome to hell!
not much indoor stuffs but plenty of outdoor activities 😁 I love hiking so South Bay is perfect to me. Better than meeting homeless people everyday on SF streets.
