MSFT L60: $102K base, $130K stocks / 3.5 yrs (25/25/25/25), $50K signon, 0-20% target bonus
Amzn SDE1: $130K base, $95K stocks / 4 yrs (5/15/40/40), $60K signon / 2 yrs
I got offers from both Amazon and Microsoft as a new grad. The MSFT offer is remote, and the Amazon offer is for the office near where I'm from (LCOL or MCOL).
I'm leaning towards Zon because I'd get to be in-office at least part of the time, which could be good experience. Also, it seems like I might learn more at Amazon. I'm leaning towards Amazon at the moment. Yes, I know about PIP. What should I choose?

1. If you know the name of the manager, check the manager and skip manager's internal reviews before deciding.
2. If possible also talk to the team engineers before joining, especially ones close to your level.
3. Agreed that the tech stack and growth is in general better at Amazon. But the chance of landing in a bad team under even worse managers is disproportionately higher in Amazon. They will work you like anything and you won't even get time to prepare and GTFO, at least this is less likely at MSFT.
