Just kidding - buy outs usually have a lot of clauses which take care of employees. I was part of an acquisition before and employees were top 3 priorities in negotiations.
Agreeing to acquisition is usually first step to come to the table to discuss ts and cs before finalizing the said acquisition
In my experience, cash payouts at purchase stock price…. Then for future pay is in cash , bonus (maybe some crypto given it’s Musk) ….given the market right now and most stocks going down in foreseeable future …. Not bad to get cash … and then you can turn around and invest how you want (stock/bonds /real estate etc).
I actually wouldn’t mind working for an Elon company, I like Elon. But per blind/levels, Tesla and SpaceX pay is low, work is in-office, wlb isn’t great, etc. I’m curious if/how he’ll change eng culture there. If he keeps twitter remote with good pay and good wlb, I’ll kinda wish I was at twitter; if he cuts pay or tries some RTO b/s, good riddance.
