I have got offers but never took it. When I was 1 yoe, the offer was little over 400k. I tried again at 3 yoe, the offer was north of 700k. Crazy money!
Moved from Meta to Jump. WLB slightly worse but not unreasonable, pay is better but not like you are gonna make 5x or 10x than tech. Things I like about trading is less bullshit, because there is a pure objective which is to make more money, you will have much more time writing code, thinking and learning than doing meetings with random people. In Meta, i was getting tired of the PSC bullshit which people make fake impact. The bad part is hft is indeed a very niche area, where the way writing code is quite different especially those latency sensitive part. Very reluctant to use open source stuff and its like you are working in a bubble. Also if you like and get used to the level and promotion stuff in tech where you can see a clear progression, hft will definitely dissapoint you. there is pretty much no level at all.
