I recently got VP position as a senior dev under internal mobility. I will be leaving the team on may 1st. But I have also got offer from morgan stanley with around 30% hike. And management position where I will have my own team and will be taking care of modernization at firm. If I quit the JPMC in mid may. Are they going to black list me? As I took vp role and left the new team within a month? One more thing, I was interviewing for both positions at the same time. Can I ask MS to wait for 5-6 month.?. It will not leave a good impression for sure if not a blacklist. Doesn't change much even after a few months. I am curious- Do they promote out of cycle during internal mobility? I thought HR policy doesn't allow this
you can go up one level (up to VP) on internal transfer now, think it started in mid-2019 or so. No special permission required, just need new to team to agree to hire you at higher level. Does include pay increase.
I was denied both the promotion and hike saying that the policy doesn't allow it anymore for IJPs in Jan this year in India. 21st is my last working day.
Did the policy change? My ex team mate got both promotion and hike off cycle as early as 7 months ago
They won't denylist you over this. Your new team might not be happy with you tho. You can't ask MS to wait that long at this level. Don't expect the actual work to be different from what you are doing now.
I was denied before I started interview process.
It's interesting different people narrating contradictory experience with regards to this policy. Even one my friend applying from external got rejected for the VP consideration saying they don't do out of cycle promotion even from outside. What a rubbish argument
Not a valid reason to blacklist anyone. After all you are getting a better role.
I can definitely say that you are not ready for management position.
Lol. Damn you folks on here are brutal
Well, you could read this post and easily figure that out. Imagine OP writing your performance review.
