I have a few friends who worked/still work at NG and they all HATE it. Only reason they stayed so long is because you get so used to being treated like shit and the skills you learn in DoD is so niche that its super hard to switch industries. Plus they give you pension.
So just because turnover is low doesn’t necessarily mean people are the happiest.
Don't like working on old shit? Skunk works and F-35 are hiring
Feel like your skills are falling behind? We will pay you by the hour to go do training
Unhappy with your WLB? Take whatever hours you want-we can put you on part time
In terms of how long to stay depends on org, some are toxic
