I am planning a trip to India first week of June and plan to return to US first week of July. I have an Indian passport and an H1b visa. I see there are flights available on kayak for some airlines - turkish, lufthansa and united. Please advise if there are any travel bans on port of entry in India and USA due to covid-19. I checked the CDC website and it says foreign nationals who have visted - china, Iran, most of Europe- in the past 14 days, are prohibited from entry into the US. CDC does not mention travel ban for Indians but I do see some posts on blind where H1b visa holders trying to return to US are stuck in India. Maybe I am missing some rule or vital information. Please advise. #workvisa #h1b TC: 168K
It's risky to travel. You might get stuck. Peak is yet to come in India. Think twice before you travel
Yeah by July more countries could be added to the list - including India . Especially since India peak is projected in July.
If it’s not critical to visit definitely avoid it. You don’t want to be the person who got stuck because US added India to restricted countries. Plus aren’t you worried you might catch the virus and spread it to your loved ones? Some people don’t even show symptoms.
Mandatory quarantine for all visitors (including citizens) in India for 14 days. You prepared for it? Unless it’s an emergency, do not travel. You never know if and when you can come back.
Airlines are just projecting and taking bookings based on current available information from the govt. They can't do anything if India decides to not open up international arrivals. The airline will offer you a refund and move on.
I am in the same boat! Thanks for the info.
India has a critical lockdown with no flights leaving in or out of the country.
Ohh I am able to view flight options departing from SFO to BOM from Kayak with the following airlines - Turkish, Lufthansa and United.
This is complete BS because India is in complete lockdown atm. The only people who will be allowed in are citizens and the only rescue flights will be via air India. You can read the news for more info
