Should I quit my job without a backup job/offer?

I hate my job so so much. I’ve been at my company for 4 years, and in the last 6 months I have really come to hate my job. Learning curve is completely flat, the tasks are tough, but the outcomes are so boring. I.e no impact to real business operations

I’ve received multiple messages on LinkedIn from competitors, so I feel comfortable that I will at some point land on my feet. I just can’t bare working another day with my team/company. The other thing is that I don’t exactly know what I want to do next, and I feel like I need some time to think about it.

Is this very dumb? Or should I wait until I have secured an offer. Side note, I have a sizable emergency fund I’ve been saving, so that should not be an issue.

I’m a cloud business intelligence analyst.

Its a dumb move. You have been in this place till now, you can weather it out for few more weeks. Work towards getting another offer as soon as possible and quit when you have something in writing.

I have quit without offers and trust me the stress of not getting another offer is not worth it. You will also be desparate for new job and can end up with something which you may not want to do.

Except for learning curve and no impact to growth, he doesnt seem to have too many issues at current place. Another 2 months assuming it takes that long for a new job, do you think is going to have any big impact.

but assuming he quits and has hard time in finding new job, or gets into any health issues, he would be thinking of old job in no time

As long as you’re not on a visa, should be fine.

Insurance if you have to use it is costly. I think you have more bargaining power if you are still employed as well and it won't raise any red flags to interviewers if you are still employed. But mental health is most important.

Generally the only thing past employers will tell others is dates of employment for legal reasons. Take that as you will.
