In your experience, how much re-run of your coding solution is too much and will fail the coding interview ? Including stupid syntax errors which I always have.
It would probably help if you specify why you are about to compile. I’ve been in (mock) interviews where the interviewee is just anxiously spamming the compile button — I think that seems amateurish. I think the main message you want to convey is that you are thoughtful and methodical.
