Hi everyone, got an offer from Rivian for Senior Software Engineer which I feel is on the low end based on my other offers and from levels.fyi, this is the final offer and no further negotiation is possible as per them.
Base: $173k
RSUs: $225k over 4 years (around 4500 shares)- can’t sell till 6 months after IPO
Level: Senior
Location: Bay Area
Given the location this seems pretty low as even for permanent remote offers the lowest I am getting is $185k and even if I forget about RSUs from other offers, those offers are still looking good since I live on east coast in very low cost of living area.
Of course the only advantage is drinking the kool aid of IPO and hoping the stock performs at least somewhat good as Tesla.
What do you all think of this offer? Worth taking a shot in hopes of a good IPO performance?
I feel they’re lowballing me on purpose as I don’t come from a tech company.
TC: $150k

If not, it sounds like a solid raise. Take it, best some lottery ticket shares, and move in 1 year or whenever you can/want to, if you can score a better deal.
