Thinking about building a gaming desktop. What do you guys think of RTX 2080? Where do people get discounts nowadays? Budget around 2100.

GD2 650w power supply

    If you getting 2080 might as well get 2080 ti. No point being half assed about it.

  • Go with a higher capacity power supply. 650w is good for now, but not future proof. Go with 800w if you can.

  • I’m super happy with my 1080ti until the RTX line comes down to earth with some appreciable stats (performance:cash) to convince me to move as a gamer.

    I bought a cyberpowerpc on Amazon last year and I am happy with it. Currently there is one with i7-8700K, rtx 2080, 16G ram, 240G ssd and 1T HD for $1799. Probably a bit more expensive than DIY but saves you the hassle.

    You might want to wait until Black Friday to see if there are other good deals.

      They come with typical mobo, PSU, ram & ssd. Mine had MSI Z270 and 650W 80+ bronze PSU.
