Employability Score: A dystopian future

Apr 2 8 Comments

You life in America is governed by several scores.

Want a apartment to rent : need good credit score

Want car insurance : need good credit score plus a good insurance score

Want to buy a car on cash: need good credit score

To have a nice credit score you need to have multiple credits. Fewer credits, bad score. Fewer years with credit, bad score. They want you to have credit and keep paying the bank. People who donโ€™t live on credits do not have good credit scores. Why is it then used to rent you an apartment again ? Anyways moving onโ€ฆ

Cameras all over to track you

Your computer tracks all your activity
So does your phone, speakers , and other gadgets

LinkedIn has already recommending you tests and jobs based on tests you passed.

What if companies like LinkedIn Gamefy this and start giving you Employability Score. Your employer and managers will have the ability to change you score based on your behavior. New employers will check your score before giving you job. This will make people behave the way companies want them to. They already check your background.

China is already doing social score.

This wonโ€™t happen overnight. And by the time we realize it it will be too late.

This will open up companies to lawsuits and liabilities. There are many laws in place preventing hiring discrimination and implementing these types of practices would get rejected and declared unlawful by the courts

Laws are made by the powerful for the powerful. It can always be changed.

Until recently companies blatantly used to ask your previous salary to decide whether or not to give you the new job offer. They are still doing that in different ways and gullible people.
