Advice please on MSFT Accounting Sr Manager offer
Just got a recruiter call on a potential offer for a senior manager position at Atlanta. I really enjoyed the conversation with the team and can find the chemistry right away. Probably I didn’t do research well enough but the comp is way lower than my expectation. It is an offer with 125k base + 35k stock for 4 years and 20% bonus. It is lower than my current comp and I have to pay extra taxes to relocate to GA from TX. It is almost a no brainer to decline the offer. But they have an interesting project I have been thinking to take and yea again the folks I talked to were really awesome. Did raise my concerns and supposed to hear back for some updates. On a side note I am doing excellent with my current job and really cannot find anything negative other than the fact I know too well in the field I am doing and feel a need to pick new skills from new roles. Any insights if it is worth a shot to jump the ship? Thank you!!

You like your current job, but a project sounds interesting to you. What happens after the project? The grass is not always greener on the other side, but change can also be good. You can always ask to work on a project with your current employer or have a conversation with your manager to expand your scope.
