Microsoft Background Check

Feb 3, 2020 26 Comments

I am currently in the midst of a background check with Microsoft. The end date on my resume is off (extended) by 1 month. Will this be considered a red flag during employment verification? #backgroundcheck #microsoft

  • Big red flags are inflated certifications and education and not disclosing criminal records. The services they use also look at credit though I'm not sure how that info is used or if it influences anything. Misrepresented certs or education will get your offer pulled and you'll get black listed for 5 years. Don't sweat minor stuff like being a month off on your resume dates.

Probably not, but notify your recruiter of the mistake in the date.

Did you put the correct end date on the bc forms? Make sure to put accurate info on bc forms and you should be good

  • The background check forms need to be accurate - make sure your LinkedIn is also accurate. Don’t do such mistakes it will cost you a lot on future - never lie on resume . For now just hope for the best .

Agreed but I don’t think OP intentionally lied. Minor mistakes and discrepancies like this happen all the time. I doubt Microsoft will make a big issue out of this

I have signed my offer letter this week and don’t see anyone reaching out to me or updating the next steps. How many days does it take for background checks to complete?
