Can one ask for a counter offer after accepting the offer letter if the present employer decides to give a higher comp?

    • Understand why you were given a raise.
      If it isn’t to just “keep” you then I would choose the one with the best WLB and benefits, I guess. Honestly, I would avoid a situation like this in the future. Don’t agree on a salary that you aren’t ready to take.

      P.S. Read your non-compete agreement, if applicable.

  • Depends on what you value. I wouldn’t agree on a salary that I wouldn’t accept - meaning I wouldn’t accept a $10k increase just because it’s an increase in salary (e.g. If you were feeling undervalued at your current employer). It’s hard to give such specific advise to do or don’t do. Beyond that. Tell us Job Title, TC differences, YOE, and location.
