Is it fine to keep the default option “sell to cover” taxes on Fidelity?

I do not want any tax liability after reading some horror stories here

You should think of the tax bracket you're in. If you are in the 34% tax bracket and they only hold the default 25% for your RSUs, you will have additional taxes to pay in April.

^^^ and take your deductions down to zero. Yes, you’ll give a free loan to Uncle Sam but at least won’t have to worry about owing tax in the end.

Not sure which brokerage handles your RSUs, but you should be able to change it on their site. I know Fidelity lets you change how you pay for the taxes and what percentage.

Fidelity told me my company doesn’t let them change the withholding amount, so it’s company by company dependent unfortunately. I have to add additional withholding to my regular paychecks.
