Weird tencent recruiter

So couple days ago, i had a recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and say my experience matched what they are looking for (security engineer), and ask if i am interested to chat with them.

I have send him my resume and the recruiter said he had scheduled a call with the HM.

And today i waited for the phone call, no one actually call me. And i reach back to the recruiter and if they called the right number.

And he replied,
"My manager gave me feedback that this position is not suitable for you for the time being. I will contact you in time if there is a suitable opportunity. Thank you sou much"

WTF? You scheduled a call with me, ghosted me and also still shit on me? Tbh, this is by far the worse recruiting experience i have ever had.

It literally pissed me off so much, first i dont think tencent is a FANG level company, so i dont know how they can treat candidate that is coming for legit background like this. Second i really dont think i am that bad (last year i landed offer from other fang and a hedge fund, but i didnt go due to a very screwed up situation on my immigration status).

  • Doing that to an Amazon guy, imagine how they would treat the rest. Recruiters are usually like admins or librarians , so I would ignore them.

    OP I totally agree with you. This company doesn’t treat ppl well enough and it’s a sh*thole. I got into it because of my fucked up immigration choice and my last round at Apple I didn’t get the job. So no choice I have to get into Tencent. Holymoly, nobody gives a sh*t abt you and forget abt basic decency. It’s a sweat shop basically and don’t expect any courtesy. I’m GTFO asap. They ghosted for a reason and they won’t tell you either. That’s how they operate and the management is very bad. Better you find something else and it’s true it’s not a FAANG level company. Forget abt wlb and no concern for your health.
